A war on 7 fronts

Poems for Palestine

A war on 7 fronts

Izzy (and the West) says that Izzy is fighting a war on 7 fronts. Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iran & the West Bank.  All these countries (of course) are filled with filthy Arab, Muslim terrorists, so the world is content to watch as they continue their brutal colonial expansionist project of land-grabbing, ethnic cleansing & the theft of resources.

When historians look back on this time, if the world survives it, they will scratch their heads. They will study how entities said the quiet parts out loud, how Western Media (owned by the Oligarchs who rule, or finance those who rule) were either silent or brutal to those who spoke out. And finally, they will study the silence & complicity of the majority.

This week at the University of Columbia University, the Dean of the Journalism Department advised his students to remove any commentary on the Middle East from their social media to avoid upsetting the current administration. When students protested, he replied, “These are dangerous times. Nobody can protect you.”

In Australia, Australian Universities adopted a definition of antisemitism that dangerously equates Zionism (a political ideology which can be criticised as part of our democratic rights) with Judaism (a religion.) The adoption of this definition sets a dangerous precedent for the criminalisation of free speech.

This week, Brisbane School teacher Kellee Green dedicated a piece of music, River to the Sea to Palestine when accepting an award. Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner unleashed a tirade about the music awards and Kellee. The QLD government pulled funding for the awards and Kellee was stood down from her position. Pity Adrian and the govt couldn’t be as passionate about the rights of Indigenous Australians or the appalling increase in crimes against women in Australia. Right now, it has never been more obvious where the money flows and who is in charge.

Our politicians and many in the public eye are saying the quiet parts out loud and it is horrifying. Horrifying because of the content & because they no longer believe things need to be hidden.

For those who say it doesn’t affect me, and it won’t happen here, it is happening now.

A war on 7 fronts

A war on children

A war on civilians

A war on journalism

A war on medical and aid workers

A war on the freedom of speech

A war on International Law

A war on humanity
