Conversations with Oday

Words and image by Oday’s sister Ameera who is alone with her son Amir in Gaza. Amir, is pictured and the picture clearly shows how inside the tent is not much drier than outside. The tent offers no protection for their belongings, no protection against the bombings.

Amir is Oday’s 6-year-old nephew and is just one of his family members that he is desperately trying to keep alive.

Right now, Ameera is on her own with Amir as her husband was evacuated to Egypt for medical treatment and since then the borders have been closed. All they have left is what they can carry in bags and a dilapidated tent. Right now, in Gaza, it is raining and hailing heavily. All Ameera’s possessions have been drenched. She has no warm clothes or bedding for herself and Amir.

Oday is my friend, and his family needs our help as they are currently in the most desperate fight for survival.

At 22 years of age, my friend Oday shoulders the heavy responsibility of being the sole financial supporter of his beloved family in Gaza.

To help Oday and his family the best way is to donate directly to Oday’s GoFundMe Account which supports his whole family and is their only means of support:

You can help Ameera and Amir directly here:

You can donate to me at the shop.

Please help.

Thank you,
