I love Fridays. They remind me of my younger days when Friday night meant getting ready for a few too many drinks followed by Saturday morning sleep-ins and big greasy breakfasts. How times have changed. I am very much a bubble dweller and don’t venture out much anymore, but I still enjoy that Friday feeling. The kids and I went through a phase of Friday night pizza nights, then we moved on to Friday night pasta nights.
At the moment we are craving something different from pizza and pasta, so we are doing potato dishes. Tonight, it was roast potato cubes with gravy and a Beyond Meat Burger. We are all a little more relaxed on a Friday night as there is no school in the morning and I try to do the bulk of my work Monday to Friday.
We eat dinner in front of whatever is our current series while the dogs fall asleep in their favourite places. Doesn’t sound like much but Friday nights make me happy. The beauty of simple pleasures.
If you want to feel better, stop holding on to things that make you feel like shit.
A 360-days musing......
I saw this quote today on an Instagram account I follow - @bemorewithless – if you want to feel better, stop holding on to things that make you feel like shit.
It actually is one of the most effective ways I have come across to explain minimalism. I am still pontificating on its brilliance. So this is only part A, I will elaborate in part B tomorrow.
Think about it – if you want to feel better, stop holding on to things that make you feel like shit.
