Heather, celebrating 57 fabulous years with the Your Face, Your Story Project

Heather and I go way back not that we knew it.  Heather used to work with my older sister Nicola many moons ago. Then recently we started following each other on social media and since then Heather has had a couple of beautiful paintings in my shop, supported my fundraising for Oday, and had a couple of visits!

Heather is one of those beautiful people who is just happy the way she is. She has fought hard to get to the age of 57 and her gratitude and appreciation is beautiful to be around. I asked Heather what the biggest positive thing about her age was for her and her response embodied this appreciation:

“I think this age is rewarding for me in so many ways because of all the experiences, knowledge, qualities and self-awareness that I’ve developed over the decades.  With that has come an increased confidence in myself and being able to make decisions to do things that actually fit well with me and find a place for myself beyond who I had to be to earn a living, or fulfil a role.  I’ve had the time to build a lovely group of friends and family around me who I love.  There’s been a lot of hard work and certainly my quota of suffering along the way, but everything has led me to a time in my life that gives me a lot of freedom to make independent decisions and keep dreaming new dreams.”

The Your Face, Your Story exhibition will culminate with an exhibition in early February - open to the public on Saturday 8th February from 9am to 1pm. The Your Face, Your Story Project is a project celebrating the lives of 40 women over 40 and challenging the stereotypes of women and ageing.

Registrations are now open for the 2025 Project. The project will open to those who have registered their interest on the 17th February and to the general public on the 3rd March 2025. For information head to: https://www.mynotesfrom.com/yourfaceyourstory
