Kelly, celebrating 44 fabulous years with the Your Face, Your Story Project

I hate the stereotypes of women and ageing in our culture. Other cultures celebrate the gift that is ageing, and their elders are revered. The Your Face, Your Story Project was my way of challenging these awful stereotypes and it has been a fabulous challenge.

40 fabulous women. Out of those 40 women, not a single stereotype to be found. They are all ageing fabulously, and joyously by living on their own terms and celebrating who they are, right now.

I asked Kelly what she thought the biggest positive thing to be about her age and I loved her response, “I’m starting to know myself and becoming my biggest advocate.”

Becoming your biggest advocate is powerful. Ageing is about getting to know yourself, about the getting of wisdom. It is also about shedding that which does not matter and caring less about what others think.

Ageing is such a glorious gift, and I am so grateful to have celebrated this gift with the 40 fabulous females of the Your Face, Your Story Project.

The inaugural Your Face, Your Story project culminates this Friday night with a celebratory exhibition. This exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday from 9am to 1pm. The Your Face, Your Story Project is a project celebrating the lives of 40 women over 40 and challenging the stereotypes of women and ageing.

Registrations of interest are now open for the 2025 Project. The project will open to those who have registered their interest on the 17th February and to the general public on the 3rd March 2025. For information head to: https://www.mynotesfrom.com/yourfaceyourstory
