Shirley, celebrating 71 fabulous years and Katrina, celebrating 40 fabulous years with the Your Face, Your Story Project.
I had a lovely afternoon with Shirley and Katrina yesterday who are my first Mother & Daughter duo in the project. I adored the fact that they did this together, so they were not just celebrating themselves, but also each other and their family.
I am catching up with Shirley and Katrina on Friday to introduce them to the shoot gallery and can’t wait for them to see their photos. I loved this photo as the magpie could not have timed his little strut across the frame anymore perfectly and the Crabapple blossoms were a perfect backdrop for this pic.
Something asked of all the participants in the project was if they could go back in time and talk to their younger self what would they say. Shirley replied with, “Don’t take things too seriously. Play with your kids more and just have fun. Laugh more.” Katrina’s reply was, “Enjoy your life more and do more of what you love while you can, and every moment is special.” Beautiful lessons for us all.
The Your Face, Your Story Project is a project of inspiration celebrating the lives of 40 women over 40 and challenging the stereotypes of women and ageing.
