The photo in today’s Conversation with Oday is of Rafah in the last day or so.

Most people know of Rafah as there was a viral AI generated meme using the words “All Eyes on Rafah” that went viral in May 2024 because of the invasion of Rafah.

On the 15th February 2024, the Prime Ministers of Australia, Canada and New Zealand issued the following statement on reports of Israel’s planned military operation in Rafah, “We are gravely concerned by indications that Israel is planning a ground offensive into Rafah. A military operation into Rafah would be catastrophic.”

In early May 2024 Biden declared that he would stop sending bombs and artillery shells to Israel if it launched a major invasion of Rafah. Rafah was Biden’s Red Line.

On the 6th May 2024 Penny Wong stated very ceremoniously, “Australia had made it clear that Israel should not go down this path” after civilians ordered to evacuate Rafah.

On the 9th May 2024 Anthony Albanese reiterated his country’s opposition to Israel’s miliary operation in Rafah.

Despite grave concern, red lines and lots of opposition, Israel ignored them all and invaded Rafah with a brutality I have never seen before. Today it is no more. A city erased. A population obliterated.

As for the leaders of the ‘civilised West’ what a bunch of lying, weak, performative, racist, genocidal devils in suits they are.

Oday is my friend, and his family needs our help as they are currently in the most desperate, catastrophic fight for survival. At 22 years of age, my friend Oday shoulders the heavy responsibility of being the sole financial supporter of his beloved family in Gaza.

To help Oday and his family the best way is to donate directly to Oday’s GoFundMe Account which supports his whole family and is their only means of support:

You can also help Oday’s sister and nephew Ameera and Amir directly here:

To follow Ameera on Instagram: @ameeraraida995

You can also donate to me at the shop.

Please help.

Thank you,

xxxLara
