Amanda from @swimminginthefield and I would like to introduce you to “The Water Warrior Project.” I think we first discussed this idea a year or so ago, but all good things take time.
Amanda has been teaching Metaqua for the last 6 years in the New England and Granite Belt and is super excited to have started teaching this winter in the Southern Downs. She is a water baby by heart and loves being able to introduce this incredible gentle, low-impact water fitness program to so many non-water babies. Amanda has had her own health challenges in the form of Type 1 Diabetes and Spinal Arthritis. She understands the frustration and difficulties of ill health.
Whilst I am not in the pool due to two very needy, spoilt dogs, I am a huge believer in the power of movement. After my diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, the power of movement has almost become a religion for me.
I have loved hearing Amanda’s stories about her incredible Metaqua participants and Amanda loves sharing these stories. She is incredibly proud of all the people who are brave enough to enter the water and find the magic of moving the body in a way that is supportive, inspirational, and kind.
For both of us, this is a passion project. We wanted to share something that is gloriously positive, acknowledge the personal successes of each participant, highlight the magic of moving the body in and out of the water, and to commemorate people’s special moments in time. We live in a pretty challenging world where sometimes it is hard to find the positives. Ultimately, we would like to provide inspiration with a series of amazing stories and if it motivates others to join Amanda in the water and learn Metaqua then that is fabulous as well.
In the coming weeks and months, we will be introducing you to the amazing stories of Amanda’s Water Warriors, and sharing a fabulous series of pool and studio portraits.
We hope you love the stories of our Water Warriors!
