Debbie, a Water Warrior

Debbie, a Water Warrior

In Debbie’s words:

“Hi all. My name is Debbie, and many would know me from Coles Tenterfield. I joined Metaqua just at the beginning of this year after attending Aquarobics for a term last year. That gave me a taste of what I had been missing.

Growing up in Sydney, I was lucky to have a pool in my backyard which was well-used by myself and half the neighborhood. To say I was a fish was an understatement. Swimming became less important as motherhood overtook my time and I moved away from my home pool. Now 40-odd years later I have found my fins with the always-inspiring Amanda and Metaqua courtesy of the amazing Bronwyn and the aqua aerobics whetting my appetite for water once again.

I have found relief from my aching feet, (If you know my work, I stand for hours) and the gentle exercise is slowly changing and toning bits I forgot I owned. The people we exercise with are from all walks of life, young and young at heart. I have met encouraging people, and the friendly, happy atmosphere is awesome.

I am so lucky to have found my happy place.”

The Water Warrior Project is a joint project of inspiration between Amanda, Metaqua Instructor from @swimminginthefield, and Lara Flanagan, Photographer from My Notes From Gallery, Studio & Store
