Rachael, a Water Warrior

Rachael, a Water Warrior

In Rachael’s words:

I’m Rachael and I love MetAqua…. Something I never heard of or thought I would be saying!

While I’ve only been attending Metaqua classes in Stanthorpe for a short time, I can honestly say it is one of the best things I do for myself each week.  The benefits linger for days and are so much more than just physical.  I’m not like my kids who were literally born into water.  Whilst I love being BY the water, it’s not often you find me IN the water.  A near-drowning experience as a kid on an annual visit to the beach made me a little wary even decades later. Whilst I enjoyed a time doing triathlons, it was always a bonus for me that the swim leg was first because it meant it would be over faster!

I'm not too fond of the keeping of times, tracking of calories, measuring kilos or centimetres… I prefer to measure smiles, joy, connection, and movement any day.  I’ve been recovering from a roller-skating incident earlier in the year and Metaqua has provided pain relief, improved mobility, and a sense of hope for a nagging injury that otherwise didn’t want to go away.

I’d encourage anyone to get along, jump in, and have some fun… you will thank Amanda every time!”
